SMALL CAP GROWTH

INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY
The genesis of this investment approach originated via extensive back testing by Portfolio Manager Mark Garfinkel, CFA. The back-testing revealed that an equally-weighted portfolio of approximately 200 stocks with positive return characteristics (e.g. improving earnings trends, solid fundamentals, reasonable valuation, etc.) produced an attractive risk/reward profile. The historical outperformance (see Full Performance Record) of this investment process since inception has not only validated this thesis, but also refutes a long-standing belief that only concentrated portfolios can provide alpha.
